What Makes a Good Game?I read a lot about how people say art and a whole bunch of things aren't what makes a game good... it's something like that but I won't get into detail. I sort of don't want to reread into the details. It sucks more life out of me and the dating sim is already doing that to me.
But really, I as a "developer" AND as a player of games need them to be complete, otherwise it's hard for me to enjoy a game.
Art is the body.
Music is the soul.
Programming is the mind.
Writing is the heart.Without one of these, the game isn't at its best. It's like a human missing something. If you want to say this is sappy, go ahead.

Now to get further into that failed rhyme, there are those of us who think this human soul and heart business is a joke. Okay, applying that "joke" to game making, let's take out the soul (music in this case) and the heart (writing). Now we have a pretty-looking game with awesome programming, but now we have mediocre music and no writing. Hmmm....
You can say games don't need those, and then you'll point to puzzles and platforms. But let's just add one line of text to that.
Platform: "Get to the end of the level"
OR
"Your princess is in another castle."
Puzzle: "Clear all the blocks."
OR
"Free your friends by breaking the ice!"
You get what I mean.
And no, I'm not saying Frozen Essence fits all of the four needed things for a complete game. XD
But this won't stop me from trying to do that to my newer games.
